Welcome back to Barcelona!

Jordi Alba is coming back to home, after he left Barcelona when he was 9

FC Barcelona can announce that it has reached an agreement today with Valencia CF for the transfer of player Jordi Alba, pending the player’s medical examination when he comes to the city of Barcelona next week.
The operation will cost 14 million euros and he will sign a contract for the next five seasons.

Player Profile:

Jordi Alba Ramos, FC Barcelona’s first signing for the 2012/13 season, is a player that always makes himself noticed despite being a left back. He is the archetypal wing back, with a number of virtues. Alba, at 23, is quick and skilful, and likes to support the forwards, making life hell for right backs with his lightning runs up the flank.

Jordi Alba (23) was born in L’Hospitalet de Llobregat, Barcelona and was part of the Masia set up from 1998 and 2005 between the ages of 9 and 16, when he was then released.  Cornella picked him up but soon enough Valencia spotted his talents.  Originally a left midfielder, Barca have former Valencia manager Unai Emery to thank for his successful retraining as a left back, where he now is the undisputed Spanish national team left back. He is technically excellent and has great stamina with a healthy amount of aggression and persistence in his defending.  It’s been clear in the Euros already how seamlessly he will integrate with his FC Barcelona teammates.

Stats Jordi Alba for Valencia 2011/12: 50 games (44 starts), 3 goals, 6 assists, 17 yellow cards, 1 red card
